It has been a year since No One Dies Alone was created to spread the powerful message of praying the Divine Mercy chaplet for the dying so that they will not die alone. 2020 was a year filled so much darkness, death, uncertainties, & chaos.
YET! IT has been a year where MERCY is filling the hearts and homes of humanity.
I have witness an overwhelming acts of mercy towards humanity. The beautiful of the message of mercy is that Mercy is NOW and never too late even at the gates of death, God still showers one with mercy.
There are many ways that one can show Acts of Mercy:
- Feed the hungry
- Give drink to the thirsty
- Clothe the naked
- Shelter the homeless
- Visit the prisoners
- Comfort the sick
- Bury the dead
- Teach the ignorant
- Pray for the living & dead
- Correct sinners
- Counsel those in doubt
- Console the sorrowful
- Bear wrongs patiently
- Forgive wrongs willingly
Each one of us is called to embrace these acts of mercy as best as we can. Some of us might not be able to physical acts of mercy but everyone can do spiritual acts of mercy. Yet, many of us can do a combination of both, physical and spiritual.
Let me share with you how you can make acts of mercy with your shoes, but first let me show gratiude towards the Marian Fathers for being a pillar of mercy for myself, my family, and the world.
The Marian Fathers of Immaculate Conception have been a pillar of strength and mercy for me due to the fact they were the ones the saved the copy of the Diary of St. Faustina, translated in English, and help Faustina become a saint.
Their name reflects my vocation as I was married on the feast of Immaculate Conception and after my Doors of Mercy experiences and a true encounter with Faustina, I have tried to support the Marian Fathers with spreading the message of Mercy. (No One Dies Alone & Prints of Mercy)
The Marian story is a beautiful one that reflects God’s merciful love.
For the example of Father Seraphim Michalenko, who passed away this past February was a world-renowned expert on the life and spirituality of St. Faustina. He smuggled photographic images of the pages of St. Faustina’s Diary out of Communist-occupied Poland in the 1970s. He also documented her beatification and canonization miracles.
His life was an act of mercy, he would point to Luke 6:36: “Be merciful as your heavenly Father is merciful” and explain not just with words but with his life:
“So if you want to be holy as God is holy and perfect as God is perfect, we have to be merciful as God is merciful,” he would explain. “And how is that? That great convert and writer Gilbert Keith Chesterton defined mercy as ‘loving the unlovable and pardoning the unpardonable,'” something that is possible for us only by the grace of God.

Many of you might know my Door of Mercy story which the Marian Fathers were very kind to write about it in their April newsletter. – You can read it here.
I was very humble and honor that they would write this article on my journey and work here at Catholic Fit Moms for Life.
I want to repay them for all their kindness as well support them for the work they are doing, not only just spreading the message of Mercy but living the acts of mercy.
Before I get to how you can use your shoes to make acts of Mercy, I need to share with some disrupting. I warn first if read more on the story of the Satan Shoes, it might bring you nightmares and disrupt your peace (for that is what has happen to myself ever since I read this)
You see a rapper Lil Nas X has created a shoe called the Satan Shoes which contains human blood and is being sold at $1,018. (Can you imagine how much good we can do for the price of 1 of those shoes.)
Again, I warn you about reading this article for it made me sick in my stomach and head for days. I kept thinking, how can we combat this? Just with words online? Spreading awareness of these shoes via social media? Or Something more.
Then I recalled the message of Mercy. We believe that Mercy is for everyone, even Rapper Lil Nas X.
We combat with love & mercy. For Mercy runs on love. Let me share with you how.
A few years ago, I created a page (no longer running) called Mercy Runs on Love and I used it to raise money during my first half-marathon, which I ran for And There Was None – an organization that helps abortion workers leave the evil of abortion. I just found it easier to do the training and running if I was doing it for someone else.
Again, this past October, I cycle my first 50-miler which I raised money for Ladies Love Life Project – which gives women real health care with truth and love so they don’t need Planned Parenthood.
This year, I had mention that it was the year that I would run my Full Marathon. But I have been dragging my feet. I haven’t run much lately. I honestly wasn’t feeling it.
Then I had this awakening when I read that story about those Satan running shoes, I was now determined to run for God, for love, for mercy.
We brought back Mercy Runs on Love! This community here is determined to combat this evil in our face with acts of mercy using our shoes.
Read more and see how easy (ok. to a point) it is to use shoes as acts of mercy!
